The Story of Castle Night

Castle Night is an annual event organized by the National Heritage Institute, which involves not only state castles and chateaus but also monuments of other owners across the Czech Republic. It usually takes place at the end of the holiday season on the last Saturday in August and is a festive end to the main visitor season.

For sightseers, it offers an extraordinary experience in the moonlight, torches and impressive fireworks. Every year, the backdrop of castles, chateaux, monasteries, fortresses and palaces bring to life stories that you can not only discover, but also become part of.

On Saturday, 23 August 2025, Castle Night will be the highlight of the main visitor season at the monuments and will offer a rich cultural programme.

The centre of the Castle Night 2025 will be the Uherčice State Chateau, one of the main objects of this year's project of the National Heritage Institute In the Footsteps of Noble Families: The Year of Italian Nobility.
