The chateau of Třebešice is surrounded by the large yard with a granary, sheds and former distillery. The renaissance building was reconstructed in early Baroque style in the 3rd quarter of the 17th century; further reconstruction followed in the 1770s. Furthermore, there were classicist adjustments, and thorough modernization of the yard in the 3rd quarter of the 19th century.
The vacated and neglected area with damaged and partially destroyed buildings was bought by the Valda family in 2008. They provided for the temporary safeguarding of houses and cleaning of the area, and as early as 2009, the trusses and the roof of the chateau were renovated. In the following year, the same treatment was given to the granary roof. Since 2011 – with the support of the Program of the Rescue of Architectural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture – the work continued by the restoration of interiors of the chateau, including painted ceilings. The authentic surfaces were respected if possible. Also restored were the doors and windows of the chateau (2012–2013) and the large barn building was reconstructed, the main effort involving the restoration of vaults, trusses and facades. The reconstructions of chateau interiors, including the newly discovered chapel, went on in the following years, and in 2015, the main gate followed, torn down in the second half of the 20th century.
In 2017, the general restoration of the chateau facades was finished, completing the main stage of the rescue of this heritage site. During ten years, the vast complex of buildings was renovated, and all the works were performed in very good cooperation of the National Heritage Institute, Central Bohemia site, and the Town Hall of Benešov. Even the operational survey was made, conducted by the staff of the Central Bohemia site of the National Heritage Institute and the Faculty of Architecture, Czech Technical University. The restored distillery and the house in the neighborhood is to witness that not only buildings with heritage protection were involved. Adjacent to the southern chateau façade is the new flower parterre; fruit orchard was renovated above the chateau. The renaissance areas of the chateau and the rose garden in front of the southern façade can be used for weddings; the barn interior is offered to social and cultural events.
The well-realized restoration of the chateau area in Třebešice is unparalleled in the region. The comprehensive approach to renovation and rescue of the heritage site is the inspiration for other chateau owners.
